Hi Gurus,
I am not sure it belongs in this forum or not ??
I am little confused about the situation I am in.
I am working for one company for six years with whom my GC is under process, but I am getting a very good offer by some company who has already did my Perm Labor but only problem is it is in totally differnt field.
Right now I am in software business but this new job is in Engineering.
Since I have prior experience and some software experiecne is related to the engineering field too.
What is the best way to switch job ? Since I am maintaining my H1 and I am on 8th year ext.

JOB code for both jobs are totally different. So If i decided to switch job Do i have to go for new h1 with that company or Can I transfer present H1 (for programmer) to (Engineering)??

Any advice will be appreciated ??
Has anybody gone throught the same situation ??

Thanks

If you have filed a I-485 (sounds like you have done that already) and immigration has not processed and adjudicated your application in the first 180 day (6 month) you can change employer as long as the job is similar to the job they filed the labor certification. So from what you are saying the answer should be no. talk to your lawyer about the details and maybe s/he will be able to find a solution for you.

Good luck, I hope it works out for you:o

What if I-140 is pending and 485 is pending for more than 180 days? Can we change jobs and not restart GC?

WHat would be my PD if I change jobs after 6 months of 485, but before 140 approval?Do I need to apply one more LC or 140?
