Is it a good Idea to apply for EAD

Hi,

I am from EB3 India with priorty date of June 2001, Currently on EAD. As my spouse is not working and is not planning to work for next 1-2 year, Is it a good idea to apply for her EAD. What will be benifit of having an EAD if one person is not going to use the same ? As I can apply if and when its needed ?

--------- if not planing to work EAD not needed but with EAD she can get SSN
