Is it a coincidence? Hard to believe...

I have noticed a common trend lately on this forum. Most of the approval posts for ND > 10/99 are coming from people who had never posted anything on this forum before.

About 95% of my acquaintances who were using this forum during their i-485 processing, never returned after their approval. I can understand that as a common manifestation of selfish human nature. What I do not understand is that how are some people suddenly deciding to share experiences with a group of people (this forum) with whom they never shared anything before, especially during the hard period of waiting... when one generally tends to find other people on the same boat.

Isn\'t it hard to believe that none of the regular users of this forum are getting approved while we are noticing random approval posts all around?

Some of the examples of such posts are -

The fact that they havent posted any messages before doesnt mean that they are new to their post. May be they were lazy to create the userid and other formalities before they can get to a stage where they can post something. But definitely I have seen people who dont post anything but ben anonymous visitors to the board.

When they got their case approved they wanted to share their hapiness with us. Thats when they created their userid and posted everything.
This is my guess.

I think that\'s a pretty cynical view...can\'t imagine why someone or some folks go through all this hassle to create fake posts. In any case, I do know some folks personally with jan nd\'s who got approved recently..

I can understand your anxiety..buts lets be positive here and thank the folks who shared their info

Cheers

I have been surfing this board for the past 2 years or so....I registered just a couple of months back, and have posted maybe about 10 times or so....that does not mean that when my approval comes and I post it, it becomes automatically a fake post, just because I have posted a lot less than others.

At least we can be thankful that people are posting and sharing approval dates; probably the most concrete and factual of all kinds of posts. Also, more the data points, better the conclusion: for all users active or otherwise.
Are they fake ? Why would anybody go thru the effort ?
And then, how can you be sure of any post, for that matter !

beatle, a view is a view. If you do not agree wth it, say that but you are no one to judge whether it is cynical or anything else. In general, in any forum there will be differences in opinions but that does not you start calling names. Be a little conservative on your adjectives. Note that I\'ve never mentioned that these posts are fakes. I had a doubt so wanted to share with the group and get others\' opinions.

I agree with taka-didi. Nobody is finger-pointed. we have to be careful and hence he is just raising a cautious note. By the way I know one of my friend who has jan-00 ND. I will try to get some info from him.

What irks me the most is people who do not post information after
their approval or interview - i really don\'t mind people posting
only once and it is about their approval. What is it with people who refuse to share their experiences - I emailed one poster picked from Khanna\'s guest book (he was happy with his interview and approval) and it is almost weeks now and no response. All I asked him was what happened in the interview and nothing more - I did not want his SSN, Bank Account numbers or anything else. Still no response.

I have noticed this with a lot of Indians (yes I am from India) - most of them think that they are the only ones who deserve to be here and the others are here by luck. It gets worse with people who do Masters here in the USA - who think the ones who came straight on H1-B came the easy way, and then this goes on - guys with BE/B.Tech cannot stand ones with B.Sc/B.A and worse if these guys have a MCA/MBA. WHAT THE HECK IS WRONG WITH US - WHY DO WE REFUSE TO HELP OURSELVES ??????
Please note that I am not criticizing all - just a big chunk of the Indian Population. Can\'t we shed off some of the bad stuff we have from our culture, mainly the following:
1) Comparing what you have with the other guy. STOP IT - the only question you should ask is "Am I making enough ? Do I want more ? How do I go about it ?"
2) Leading your life trying to get what other Indians have got/achieved - what an irony - these are the same people who will not help each other but will readily copy them.
.... theres so much more that I can go on.

Please note that I am not trying to degrade ourselves - we have some of the best brains in the whole world and have contributed immensely to the global economy, but we are not good at helping each other. I have seen this in job interviews too - if I am being interviewed by an Indian, he goes to the highest possible extent to make sure that he can ask everything he has ever learnt in his life - it becomes more of an ego clash to prove he is better - WHAT THE HECK IS WRONG HERE - you interview a person to see if he is fit for the job and not to see if he knows more/less than you. In most scenarios like this you will get the job if you know less or pretend to know less. Try it the other way and you have no chance. WHY ?? because our culture has drilled into our head that we should be doing favors, helping others and this is viewed as \'helping others\' while in reality it is just an \'ego win\'.

Like I said, I can go on, but I will stop. My case - EB2, PD 03/99, ND 10/99, Case transferred to Newark 04/01 - waiting for interview letter
