Is I9 a must when changing H1-> EAD ?

My present employer (I140 sponsor) has laid me off, but has been considerate enough to keep me on leave-of-absence till 180 days + I485, which is 1.5 months from now. I am currently on H1 status, but have approved EAD. I want to continue this nominal leave-of-absence employment with current employer for the 1.5 months period, but also start working for another employer at the same time.

The legal (hopefully) solution to the problem that I see is that I start working for new employer on EAD and let my current (old) job be primary job for the 1.5 month period.

1) Since my both jobs will be technically full time jobs, can that be a problem ?
2) Do I have to submit I9 with old employer to change my work status from H1B to EAD?
3) Will new employer require I9, and will it affect my GC processing?

Thanks a ton for your advise in advance.

2 full time job problem?

Thanks for the response Jaxen, I need some clairification on your response. What problem can I have if I work two places full-time on EAD? and what should I do in these circumstances to avoid such a problem?

U can

U can work for 2 or more employers while on EAD. The only requirement for GC continuance is that the primary job should refer to the one mentioned in LC/140. You have 24 hrs a day to fill with jobs!!!
