Is I-864A needed if the sponsor meets the 125% minimum income requirement?

my situation is

I sponsor my wife for her immigrant visa. I signed the I-864 and I-864A and I sent them to her. However, is it necessary for my wife to sign the I-864A in front of the Consulate Officer during the interview?

My income meets the 125% minimum incoming requirement and she does not have (because it is just too low) income thou.

If you are the sponsor, and you meet the 125% income requirement, then all you need to fill is the I-864. There's no need for the I-864A to begin with.

thank. it must be some confusion between myself and the consulate officer in taiwan. i submitted the I-130, and i also signed the I-864 in front of him. Somehow, some reasons, he said my wife and I also need to sign the I-864A (my guess is, he did not know if I needed the I-864A or not. He just saw I submitted the I-864A so he asked me to sign too).

thanks for clarification.
