Hi,

I am appearing for employment based CP interview in Nov.

My attorney told me that my employment letter is a support letter for both me and my wife. According to him, there is no need for me to fill I-134 and get it notarized (as my support letter for my wife)

Any experiences about this one ?

Also, is it okay to just fill up I-134 by pen OR one needs to * type * in all the information ? Where can I download I-134 form from ?

thanks,

It is for you to decide, since affidavit of support (I-134) is listed as one of the required documents for the dependents.

Just search of the web with 'I-134' and you will find it. It can
be filled by hand. Notarization is required.

I-134

Hi,

I had my interview last week. I had the I-134 notarized with me during the interview, but they never asked for it. I think it is safer to have it with you incase they ask for it.

about the figures in I-134

Hi,

thanks for the info.

In the I-134, I am mentioning my base salary and the deposits in my bank. I have some stocks; what should I mention the value of the stocks ? What price to consider ?

Also, if I mention stocks what documents do I need to produce ?

Also, does the consular office ask for the supporting documents for the I-134 OR he just sees that it is notarized. ?

AROUND HOW MUCH BANK BALANCE IS SUFFICIENT TO SHOW ? If I have some good amount, I will not show any stocks on the I-134 then.

thanks,

{You don't have to be precise about this. Just quote the current
market value.

{You don't have to produce any documents}

{They don't ask for any documents in support of the items
mentioned in the I-134. However you would already have
proof for the bank balance in the shape of bank statements.

If you own your car, carry the title. If you own a house then,
carry copies of documents.

But, they may never ask you to show these papers. You would
just carry them to address the 'just in case' scenario.

I have not seen one single post where the candidate was
asked to show these papers. }

{There is no specified amount. Remember that your employment
is the primary basis of support for you and your family. The
I-134 is just secondary, and your admission that you are
responsible for your family's maintenance.

Even a balance as low as few thousands ( 4 or 5 ) should
be sufficient. There is no harm even if you exclude the
stocks. }

I-134 single-sided or double-sided ?

Thanks a lot Raju!!!

One last (dumb ??) question :

Should the I-134 be printed on both sides of the paper sheet (double-sided) or just a single page on one sheet (single-sided) ?

thanks,
