Is H1B status cancelled on using AP??

Problem:
I recently got my new H1B authorization. I have I-140 and 485 pending and have not received AP yet. I have to travel for a very short trip for 2 days. Assuming I get my AP before I leave, can I re-enter on AP without any harm to my H1B status? I'm praying the answer is yes.....

In other words, if I reenter on AP, does it mean my H1B will be automatically cancelled and I can only work on EAD?

Please give answers quick...this is urgent.

------ you can be on H1 status even after using AP if you are working on H1 with the same employer who sponsored H1
