Is fingerprinting required for EAD & AP approval? I've noticed that some folks have recieved their EAD before they even appeared for their fingerprinting appointment. Let me know if this is true.

fingerprinting for EAD is required but not for AP. the ones who got it before fingerprinting have most likely fallen into favorable cracks and got their EAD.

I got my EAD before FP. FP is not required on the first EAD but will show up on renewal.

I think fingerprinting is only required for AOS and not for EAD or AP. I got my EAD in a day after I got my receipt notices.

I got my EAD before FP. FP is not required on the first EAD but will show up on renewal.

Yep, I concur with resident1374.

I got my EAD before even my FP got done. FP is only for I-485 approval.

Note: Please don't take my word for final. My response is based on my experience only.

We got our EAD before we got FP notices. On EAD card it says that FP not availble though. Still we haven't received AP.
