Is EAD part of the 140/485 process?

Sorry for ask such simple question:

I'm on H1 until the end of next year. I'm filing I-140/485 EB3 now. Is EAD part of the process or it has to be filed (and charged) seperately? Do I need an EAD or just extand my H1 when it's up?

different app and fees. If you are confident about your employer U can keep extending h1. EAD is cheaper though...
