Is EAD enough for change of job or we need I-140 approval too ?

Hi, I am on H1 visa and my wife is on H4 visa. My green card application is in DOL Dallas now. I have few questions -

1. After clearing DOL, We can file I-140 and I-485 together and We can get EAD in around 90 days. Is it possible to change the job(without harming the GC process) on just the EAD, even if one doesn't have the I 140 approval ?

2. Does My wife also need to wait for I 140 or she can start working immediately after getting EAD ?

You can not change primary job on EAD alone. AT this point in time your I-140 needs to be approved and Green Card must be pending for over 180 days. Then you can evoke AC21.
Your wife can start working as soon as she gets her EAD approved. She does not need to wait for I-140 approval.
On an EAD you could also work for another employer at same time.

------- you need I-140 APPROVED AND I-485 PENDING more than 180 days to use AC21, if you change before that your employer can withdraw or revoke the I-40 any time, dont take the risk of changing employer at this time
2. Does My wife also need to wait for I-140 or she can start working immediately after getting EAD ?
----- she can use EAD any time but if I-140 gets denied then EAD, AP I-485 all will get denied and she will not NOT be on H4 status once she uses EAD
