Is Courtesy copy enough for PP Stamping or need Originals?

Hi Gurus,
 Here is what my attorney says about going PP stamping with Courtesy copy:
"while you can try to obtain the stamps with your courtesy copies, you should know that INS may refuse to grant your permanent residence until you return with the originals, so you should be aware of this possibility."

My question is, do I need to have original or courtesy copy is enough for PP stamping.

courtsey copy is good Most local INS offices accept it
