Is Background check= Security Check = Name Check?

Hi all,

I got a letter from USCIS for a status enquiry about no lud on FP last year. So they sent me a letter saying my Background check is not complete. Am I right to assume that it is Name check ?
I think its Name Check as my name is very common. Not sure what it is.
Any suggestions from gurus? Would appreciate some inputs

How do we know where it is stuck then?

How do we find out which stage it is stuck then as it is more general term. I know my FP were sent the same day.
