I am PR of Canada planing to get H-4 Visa ,Our attorney who processed my spouse H1 is telling me to come to states on B Visa which i already have and then switch to H4 while i am in US.But i think getting a H4 stamped in Canada is better rather changing status in US.What u Guys can advice.

----- why enter on B2? you can get the H4 visa stamp based on your spouse H1 approval from US consulate in Canada and then enter US on H4
But i think getting a H4 stamped in Canada is better rather changing status in US.
--you are correct, becase again in US you have to file B2 to H4 COS, better get H4 visa stamp and enter on H4 and get I-94 based on H4 at POE

Employer letter that has date of his joining, job title, salary and job duties and info about company, his H1 approval notice, copy of LCA and form I-129 that was filed for his H1B with USCIS (it may be with lawyer who filed his H1) 3-4 recent pay stub copy, copy of his I-94(both sides) copy of his passport pages ( Show only what is asked)
From your side: form DS-156 application for visa, Consulate fees, 2 photographs. Go to US consulate site where you are going to apply H4 visa stamp and read the info
I understand your rationale but the only thing I would be concerned about is getting stuck in canada for administrative processing of H4 visa. If you are already living/working in canada, it may not be a big deal. I am also a PR of canada. I came to Toronto in Jan for landing and have H4 stamped at the consulate. It' been almost 7 weeks and I'm still waiting for the security clearance for the visa.
Also, I'm not sure but if they refer your case for some name check/security clearance, they might cancel you old B visa.
