Mr. Khanna,
I have been reading a lot of posts and this gentleman asked if he applies for H1-B in April/May 2004, when would he get his papers from CIS and you replied : from 2 weeks to few months.

Whenever we go online for a case status check - It says approved on "some date" and usually thats what is considered a begin date. I haven't notice two different date - one that says approval date and other - begin date

So for people applying for H1-B in April/May 2004, and if their case is approved, and as per your answer it could take 2 weeks to few months.
I wonder, what would be the dates, say if the application is approved in two months but the person can only work no earlier than Oct. 1, 2004.

The reason I am asking is that a LOT of people have the same doubts and it would be very helpful to these folks if you could take some precious time of yours and tell us about the approval date and begin date.
If both the dates are same..then I believe people who are worried about getting out of status will not find themselves in that situation.

With Regards

Begin date can be six months ahead of approval date. In the inreim, you will have no status (so far - CIS may change that), unless you are maintaining some other status.
