I won DV2005. My number is EU13***. Do I have to have sponsor's affidavit of support in order to adjust my status? Can I asjust my status by providing evidence of my financial independence? If yes, what forms do I need to fill out. What is the required minimum amount for a single person?
I am a full time F1 student living in Oklahoma. I have a part time job, several thousand dollars in savings, $8K in home equity, and two plots of land apraised by county at $20K. Thank you.

that should be more than enough. We showed about $15,000 in assets for a family of two, no affidavit of support, no job offer.

Others at the consulates were asked straight out for an affidavit of support or a job offer, and didn't get a visa until they showed either.

I think AOS for an F-1 student should be a breeze in this case, since you will have education and you speak English and you have a greater chance of landing a great job.

I'd imagine that should be plenty. I was here as an F-1 student, and I showed them that I had a US bank account and a stipend of $16,000 per year, and that was more than enough. I didn't own property or have any significant savings as you do, so my guess is that you're good to go.

Thank you for your advices. I also think that it will be easy for me to adjust status. All of my documents are in mint condition and I am in status.

Another question, have you heard about AOS pilot program in Dalls,TX? They claim to adjust status within 90 days. I am going to set an appointment and same day interview there in a week.
