Is a namecheck done everytime FPs are done?

Just got off the phone with a TSC IO.

She said FBI hasn't uploaded my namecheck results.

I told her my namecheck was done a long time ago (in 2003).

She agreed, then said that I had taken my FPs now, so another namecheck is automatically initiated since they go together. FBI does both things together, apparently.

This is news to me.

Did anyone know about this? Anyone has more details on this procedure?
 
Yeah, that seems true. I had read that somewhere too !

I just got the same info

I just got the same info from the TSC IIO few minutes ago.... She said she is going to send the FP letter to me, which would have a Appt date of 05/17/07 and I should reschedule it when I get the letter with ASC??? She also said my name check is not complete since FP expired and another Name Check will be required along with 2nd FP.. News to me too...
 
That is insane!!
So if a NC is required, will it be clubbed with all the 700K new applications? It will take a lifetime to get the NC approval done then...
Sorry to be so discouraging but ain't that a hard fact!?!

I called the 1 -800 Number couple of times but there isnt aption to connect to the Service center .

How did you go for second FP without appointment? Has that got something to do with this issue?
 
As per my recent Info pass, IO told me that my name check is not initiated second time since your name check is cleared after the first FP. This can mean many thing I will leave it to your interpretation.

I went for an Infopass appointment and explained to the IO that I never got my second FP notice even though TSC said they scheduled one. The FP wasn't scheduled in the ASC's system, but the IO let me do it anyway since he independently determined that my FPs had expired, so I should be doing FPs anyway, whether they have been scheduled or not. Really good IO.

As for whether it has anything to do with "this issue" - I don't think so. I always thought FBI namecheck is a one-shot thing - they do it once soon after they receive the I-485 application. There is another check, the IBIS check, that has to be less than 90 days old when the case is ready for adjudication. So they do have something for updated checks. Considering the delays in FBI namechecks, if they start doing it every 15 months, that's it - many of use can forget about ever getting approved.

I'm inclined to believe the TSC IO y'day said the namecheck just to shoo me off the phone. Time (and, hopefully, a congressional enquiry) will tell what's right.
 
I was told the same..

same here..TSC IO told me today that my 2nd FP is scheduled. When I had requested 2nd FP two weeks ago, the IO then had told me that NC is clear all I need is 2nd FP no need for another NC...
