I'm a US citizen. New wife in Nepal--is a K-3 really quicker than standard I130 route? I have an immigration attorney but she has not mentioned the K3 to me as an option....Any help appreciated. Thanks.
 
The K3 visa processing time varies with each individual's circumstances. Under normal circumstances, it takes around 3 to 5 months at the USCIS plus 2 to 3 months at the Consulates to process the K-3 visa. In case of I-131 it takes around 4-6 weeks normally. And also as you are gonna apply for your wife and not for your fiancee, your immigration attorney's choice would be better.
 
The purpose of the K-3 visa is for a person to enter the United States who has a legally valid marriage to a United States citizen, to join that spouse, and to file for permanent residency. The United States citizen petitioning spouse must also file a Form I-130 petition for the beneficiary. Thus, you must file the I-130 before you file the I-129F.
