Is A# is unique on all INS notices? Please Verify to avoid further delay.

Hi Guys,

My A# on I-485 is different from A# on FP2 notice. Is this normal ?

I was under the impression that A# is unique for a person on all INS notices whether it's I-485, I-131, I-765 or Fingerprint notice, but as a matter of fact, it 's not true.

My two fingerprint notices have different A#. NSC is using two A#'s across
I-485, I-131, I-765 or Fingerprint notice(1,2, etc.) petitions.

Can you guys verify this ?

I need to check whether it's a mistake by NCS. If so, I need to send them a letter to correct the same as it may further delay the process as my 2nd FP A# does not match with I-485 A#.

Did you file I485/I140 more than one time ?

Did your second finger print say, your first FP got expired that's the reason you're getting the second FP ? If not, then you need to call CIS and clarify through your Attorney.

No, I have filed only once. And FP2 doesn't say anything about FP1 whether it's expired or not. I received FP2 bcos my Fp1 was expired which is not unusual as many people got their FP2 notices. And my FP2 was done on 5/8/2004.

thanks,

-----if you filed I-140 and I-485 only once then you should have the A# that is on your I-485 filing reciept and you fill up the same on EAD renewal application or AP applications in future. it is like SSN assigned to you, your name, DOB.
If your Fingerprint has wrong or diffrent A# then let your lawyer know about this and fix the problem.
*** if you have EAD or AP just check the EAD card if your A# that is on I-485 reciept matches with A# on EAD card( on EAD card you will find extra 0 first) and AP must have the same A#.

** the A# on your I-485 filing reciept is correct, if on second FP notice the A# is diffrent than talk to NCSC or your lawyer and let them correct it

-----that FP result may go to other persons A#, you need to sort out this A# matter

---November 18, 2004??? how could you file Nov 2004? it is May 2004

Ginnu...It's Nov 2002

Hi Ginnu,
When we are talking about FP1 and FP2, then it must not be May 2004 right.
It's not May 2004 , as you know May filers will definitely not have 2nd FP..

Anyways, it's my I485 Nov 2002...

And thanks for the suggestion... I will talk to my lawyer today...
