Hello,
It has been 530 days since I filed my 485. The AVM/ online says it will take between 450 to 480 days. It appears that nebraska center is officially saying that they are processing ND = Aug 22, 2001. Is there any point in trying to appraoch senator/ congress men? Could any one throw any light please...

You can always contact your congressman. What I'd suggest you do is look at your RD and see if BCISs date for adjudicating I485s is past it. That way they can't say that they're just processing August 22, 2001 cases. My RD is December 2001, and so far I've held off since few applicants from that month have had approvals (non-scientific judgement based on the small sample in rupnet). Does anyone else have a positive experience in contacting his/her congressman in the time frame chikki mentions?

rgds,
sadiq

I would luv to know those...

...positive experiences - esp. if they are from MO. I want to know how to go about. I too am DEc. 2001 applicant (and just past 530 days, BTW - going by RD) - still no light in site....

Another Dec 2001 applicant here. RD, ND 12/11 and 12/14. I got all excited last week after seeing quite a few rfes and some approvals for this month on Rupnet. But as it has always been the case with NSC for so long, that small activity is now followed by a period of lull. I am trying hard to remain optimistic but things aren't looking very rosy.

BTW whatever happened to all the active posters on this board?? The board's activity in the last few weeks is looking very similar to that of NSC.

It appears that the people who have responded on this thread are in the same boat as mine. I suppose it would be better to wait few more days, and monitor progress in rupnet.
I see several people who began their GC process about couple of years ago say that they are frustrated with the wait....In less than two months I will complete 5 years since I began my GC processing (Labor filed - Aug 1998), and my sixth year in waiting will begin. It is getting to my head.
Thanks all for responding, you are all very supportive;)

i have got official letters as well as telephone follow ups from both my senators from michigan and within two weeks I have had my I-485 approved. in fact i waited 500 days and then contacted them instead of bothering with my lawyer or IIOs etc.

i was extremely impressed how quickly both offices responded to my written request.

Chikki...

U r better than I am. I started with my (earlier) lawyer in Sep. 1997! Some how he got me an RD of Apr. 1997! My Labor itself took more than 3 years and I got it done in May 2001! Can it get worse?!

Still waiting, bud, we are almost on the same boat.
It appears that you are a little more blessed than me (4 additional months of wait time);)
It took me exactly 3 years and 2 weeks for labor approval. I hope this Looooooooooong journey will end soon (pleasantly).
Good luck to all you Dec RD waiters, let us hope for the rupnet numbers to move quickly from 5 approvals, 27 RFE's to all aprovals.:D
