Is 485 going to take less time than CP?

Hi,

Here are my GC app details:

EB2 (RIR), VSC
PD: 7/11/01
I-140 RD: 1/24/01, EAC-01-086

I\'ve indicated CP (Delhi) on my 140 filing. But it seems that 485 duration is catching up w/ that of CP (VSC 485 has reached 12/00 cases, vs 6-8 months for Delhi CP). Given other advantages w/ 485 (safer, no travel, etc.), should I change to 485. My lawyer said I can change at any time. But it\'ll be best to change before VSC sends 140 approval to the NVC to avoid any additional delay.

I also heard that as of this July 1st all cases have been made current for 485 processing. As a result there would be a massive influx of 485 apps from primarily more than 100,000 EB3 folks who had been waiting, for years in some cases, for their date to become current. So 485 duration will slip back to 1-2 yrs.

Please advise.

Thanks!

VSC is processing Aug-00 cases not Dec-00 cases as you think. So I think CP is still faster with lot less issues!

I recently got a bail from I-140 forum. There should not be any I-485 filing from Sept 2000 to April 2001. I-140 was on hold during these months.

Immitracker.com has more than 400 cases with ND from Sept 2000 to Apr 2001!!! You are forgetting I-140 already approved and people waiting for priority date to be come current and then filing once it became current during this period.
