IRS tax audit

If IRS audited tax returns in the distanct past for an applicant, the applicant provided info/dos to IRS and it was cleared meaning the tac refund was given by IRS. All of this was done without any lawyer involvement and the money at stake not huge (probably $1-2k max).

Again there's no place on the N-400 for masking for this kinda of information so I don't think it needs to be volunteered.

Your thoughts?

we have all gotten audited at some point. It means nothing. Only issue is if you failed to file, or owe back taxes

Got it. At some point, at the time of filing tax return, I owed $$ instead of getting refund but I paid so as of now I don't owe anything to IRS and that's what matters for the purpose of N-400.

If in the past one owed taxes but paid before the application, the answer to question "Do you owe taxes" is No.
