Islamabad consulate is the worst I have ever seen. They can do anything and and I expect the worse from them.
Wait and wait. There is nothing you can do.

Good Luck.

I admit I have never applied for a benefit from the US embassy in Islamabad, but my only experience in dealing with them is from Dec 2002 and was very positive.
At that time I was living in Canada and about to move to the US on a K-1 visa. I had invited several of my relatives from Pakistan to attend my wedding in the US. I sent each one of them a letter with a copy of K-1 visa and an invitation card. This helped all 10 of my relatives to get B-1/B-2 visas.
They included:-
(1) Uncles (ages 48 and 53)
(2) Aunts (ages 56 and 35)
(3) Male cousins (ages 30, 24 and 23)
(4) Female cousins (ages 20, 17 and 16)

Bottom line, everyones mileage may vary.
