IO question

During the naturalization interview if the IO says that we cannot make a decision now for whatever reason (for example I have duplicate A#, etc...) and that they will send an oath letter separately - what should we do? I know that there is no way to request closure on the case at that time; but can we request the IO to give his/her name and phone number? Any other questions which we should ask the IO so that I can follow-up on the case with the District Office?

Even if the IO can't decide things after your interview is completed...they should still give you a N-652 form stating that.

On this form, the officer's name is stated on it so you will have his/her last name at least.

I guess you could try to ask them for his/her email address and see if they will give you that info. :)

No harm in asking the officer if he/she will entertain the idea of you contacting him/her directly. Worst case, the officer will say "No" :)
