intirim EAD experience in LA office

I flew from michigan to LA to get my intirim EAD. There are two lines in the downtown LA offcie, one is long line (without appointment)and other is short line (with appointment). i went around 6:30 morning and joined in short line (as i have a appointment with attorney at ins office) i went inside with him around 8 am and they took filled form and copy of I-765 and asked to show the previous EAD and got the intirim EAD at 8:45 am and out by 9 am.they gave only for 8 months.

How did you manage to get an appointment? Will you please post the details. I need to go there in couple of weeks and the long line you mentioned starts previous evening & I know some of my friends who went there at about mid-night and still didnt get an iEAD. Apparently, they issue limited number of iEad per day.

You are kidding right? As long as you are over 90 days and have entered before closing they have to give you an iEAD no questions asked! This is news to me! Anyone else heard about this before?
 
What about identification?

Did they ask for a Driver License? Or why you are in michigan but processing in LA?
 
Hi everyone,
I am the new member to this wonderful site.
It is true that the L.A. district office does issue a limited number of iEADs each day. If the number is not available that day, then you have to come back again another day.
My husband and I got the iEAD cards from the L.A. office early this March. We went there twice. The first day they approved our application. Since it was already 2:30 pm. They asked us to come back again the following Monday to pick up the cards.

My I485 is filed from CSC as my company located in LA. I am on project assignment in michigan since 3 years. when i went to get a intirim EAD in DETROIT, They said that my 485 is pending in other center (CSC) so can't issue an intirim EAD. My attroney arranged an appointment with INS attorney so that i went in shorter line within 30 minutes .

I am in a similiar situation, except I am in NJ. I have to go to get iEAD in June. Can you elaborate on this "INS lawyer" more please?

Do I need to ask ***my lawyer*** to arrange an INS lawyer to get iEAD? How much time do I need to give him to get me an appointment?

Yes, there is a limit per day as how many iEAD can be given. Even if you manage to get inside, They can turn you away if they fill the quota for that day. So, you can either get as early as possible to the line or get an appointement. ( I did not know that you could make one for iEAD.)
