Interview ...

I just received a letter from CHICAGO USCIS saying that I missed my interview. Though I hadn't received the interview letter to start with. They have asked me to submit an explanation for why I missed the interview. They haven't specified how I should communicate to them. I called customer care and they recommended I just sent them a letter. But since I have already missed the interview because of the USPS don't want to rely on it again. Do you think meeting them in person would help? I am in India these days and would have to travel back specifically for this purpose.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Rohit

How did you get USCIS to send a letter to India? and the lost interview letter is supposed to be sent to India too?

We have to admit, USPS is very reliable compared with post services in many other countries. If a letter from USA
to India is lose, it must have been most likely lost in India part of its delivery

I'm sure OP meant he has someone checking his mail in US while he's in India.

I am reading this..I think.this is a red flag for USCIS. OP is in India...and probably provided Indian mailing address ? This looks very suspect to me.

I agree that the USPS service is pretty reliable, and it is more likely to do with "friend.forwarding.India.setup" rather than a USPS mistake. So, what was the logistics which caused it? You are certain you never received the interview notice?

Did you even check your online case status? Usually that changes to "Interview" status when a letter has been sent. Sorry but you would have to come back and go to Infopass and sort this out. This can't be DONE FROM INDIA!!!!!!
