Interview?

Hello!

I just wanted to ask if it has ever happened that somebody would get an immigration visa without having to go to the interview?
As I already said in my previous post, me and my husband didn't send all the applications together but, just as they told us in the infoline, we sent I-130 first, and last week we sent the remaining I-485 and I-765 (after I-130 has already been approved). And I just had this crazy and probably stupid idea, that maybe since my I-130 is already approved and now I just had to apply for Adjustment of Status and EAD, that maybe I won't have to go to the interview. I know it's just a wishful and naive thinking. But maybe it has happened to somebody before? Is there anyone who would send I-130 separately and after its approval they would send I-485 and I-765???
Please tell me it's possible ;-)

Okay, have a great day! And good luck with your visas!!!

Hmmm, people do sometimes send the I-130 and wait for it to be approved before sending the I-485. Most of family based immigration works that way.

You can only file concurrently for very few cases. But you will very very likely have your adjustment of status approved or denied after an interview.

I would say % 99 of people will go to an interview, except perhaps people who came here on a Fiancee (K-1) visa or people who have been married for 3+ years (maybe). I have heard of a few cases.

Are you in the US? or are you guys going through Consular Processing in your country? otherwise, you are not getting a Visa :p but Conditional/Lawful permanent residency.

Hope that helps :)

I filed my applications separately, and I still had to interview. THe interview is usually for I-485, not for I-130.

Thanks for your responses. I know I will have to go to the interview, I just had this crazy idea yesterday... ;-) But I am all prepared for the interview. Yes, we are in the US. And that's what they told us to do when we called the USCIS infoline (to first file I-130 and later the remaining applications). Thanks anyway!

as a spouse of a US citizen you can do it either way. Usually people file them together. If they file them separately, then they have to file I-130, wait for notice of receipt, and then file I-485.
