Interview yesterday CHIC, CONFUSED!!!!!

Hi everybody, that's my first time on this forum, I found out about it from a friend and heard a LOT good stuff:)
Here is my story, I am married to US citizen, we got married in september 2003 (I came on J-1 visa), he was a green card holder then. Waited until april 2005, when he got his citizenship, and filed adjustment of status.
We had our interview yesterday in Chicago. Our appoitment was at 11:30 am.
They called everybody from the waiting room on the second floor, and we were left by ourself. It was around 1 o'clock. After a while they called us on 23rd floor. We were so stressed and didn't know what is going on, for a while we even thought that we made a mistake with the date for interview.
After a while officer called us to his office, swore us, asked me about four questions like how long have you been out of status?, where did you work?, do you still live at the same adress? He never lokked at us, asked about anything, did not want to talk with my husband at all. Took copies of some things we had in common, never even looked at it, didn't want pictures, paystubs, letters, nothing. Just said NO!!!!!!!!!
Then basicaly said I can not make a decision. Goodbye. Oh and your background check is not back. BYE!!!!!!!!!
We don't know what to think about it, we love each other, we were really prepared for the interview, had everything, but he never asked, as if we were not there. Please guys let me know what you think about it.
Were we red flagged?, I am so confused. Appreciate any response.

Sorry to hear about the outcome of your interview.
Well, if your background check is pending, all you can do at this point is to contact your congressman/woman and have them inquire about your case. Go to www.house.gov to find the contact info for them. If there is something else that keeps them from giving you a decision on your case, they would mention it in their response to a congressman.
Good luck!

Thank you for your advice Anahit. I will try:)
There is one more thing that bothers me, I got a phone call from our attorney (she is really helpless!!!!!!!!) and according to her the officer was running late which caused him to fly through our file without asking any questions. But I am wondering, because he didn't even check if my husband is employed. It doesn't make any sense since the affidavit of support is the basis of the aplication. I am loosing it :(
Why did he not want to talk with us, it doesn't seem that the pending background check was the reason for treating us with such ignorance.

margo don't worry! I had a similar experience! The officer did not really want to talk to us, look at pics etc. He asked us two questions like: "How did you meet?" and "How long have you been married for?". That's it!!!!After we left the building I was really confused and said to my husband that it was too easy. Even though we are for real we were very nervous to the point that I feel like we looked fake. Our hands were shaking and during the interview i go to the officer: "I am so nervous" and as the officer was not really having any eye contact with us during the interview (he was filling some forms or he was just pretending to do so ;)) , but this time he looked at me and I could totally see question marks in his eyes so I go "well.. you know... of course I should not be but I am" It was a disaster!
We were prepared for the kind of fight that would end up with my being in tears saying " I love this man and you can't separate us"... i am kidding but you know... I really never though it was going to be that easy!!! When we got out of the building I had a whole range of feeling starting with being excited and ending at being pissed off. That experience was weird but thank god we got through :) At least I think we did even though I have not received my green card yet. :(
ps. the officer also did not want to tell me whether we passed the interview or not but I kept pushing him to tell us so he finally said something like "I can't specifically tell you that, but let's say you passed stage 2". I did not even care or know exactly or how many stages he thinks or anyone does there are, but when I heard the word "pass" I was happy enough :)
anyway, don't worry :)

margo089,

Don't worry about officer not looking at ur documents.I had similar situation, officer never asked my husband even his DL ,i couldn't believe but officer was very friendly. So just don't worry about officer's mood and just keep your fingers crossed.

margo089,
I had the simillar experience. I thought he will try to figure out by looking at our facial expression if we are real or fake but he never looked at me never ask for any paustubs, never even ask to sworn. Finally we found out that our name was stuck in Name Check.
