Guys:
I just completed my interview this afternoon. As promised, here are the details.
My interview was scheduled at 1:20 PM. So, checked in at DO (Columbus, OH) at 1:00 PM.
Went through security and the guard took my appt. letter and asked me to wait. Noticed there was one hispanic couple with a layer waiting for the interview and another female by herself.
While waiting, I noticed there were 3 examiners inside calling names. My name was called by a female examiner at 1:45 PM. She took me to her office and asked me to take the oath before sitting.
Took out my file which was about 4" thick and asked me what is all of that. Mine was the only file very thick compared to 5 other files. I told her that I got my GC through outstanding researcher category and I had submitted all my publications, etc..... My N-400 file was on the top of which she removed the staple.
Asked me to take out my GC and driver's licence. That's all!! She told me to keep all other documents away. Went through the application page by page to make sure I had the current info. Talked about my son who is a toddler and asked if he is very active. Also, joked about my file being thick, she laid her left hand while writing as a support,...Ha.ha..
While going through my application & talking, she printed out 10 questions from the computer and asked me to answer either verbally or write the answers. I read the qestiuons and answers to her and got 100%. All were from the 100 questions that all of you are familier with. Then asked me to read few sentences from a form and asked my signature at the end. Then asked me to write a simple sentence at the bottom of the test page.
Whle looking at my application, she asked if I traveld outside after my last trip to India in 03. Then she asked if I had any violations, speeding tikets, etc... I told her that I had one in 02 and have paid in full. She confirmed that I paid and have no outstanding issues. I said no. She didn't even ask me to show any evidance.
Then she took out two photos I mailed with the application and asked me to sign on them. She completed some formalities of paperwork and said you are done and gave me the 'naturalization interview results' form # N-652 which shows I have passed the tests and says Congratulations, your application has been recommended for approval. She told me that I will receive a letter from their office with in 30 to 90 days. All of this took only 12 minutes!!!
Overall, she was very nice and humourous. I was kind of over prepared with lots of documents. All went well.
My advise to you guys, Just Relax......if you have all your documents and maintained your legal residency, no need to worry.
Witing to be a citizen soooon.
