Interview problem

Hi, I recently had my interview in Garden City office. The officer told me that I had too many trips to Pakistan and Pakistan is a terrorist country ( he said that atleast 3 times to me) so he needs to have the copy of all the pages of all my passports ,and a list of all trips and my new born child's birth certificate. He has given me the date of after 2 months to bring the copies of documents at 7:30AM in Garden City.

I passed my tests (he told me that) and he made me sign part 14 -Oath Allegiance part-The last part. Also said that I just need to go over your case again.. its more work for me.Dont worry, you will do fine.

My questions
1: Does making me sign part 14 matter? what importance does it have?
2: Do you think I can have my oath the same day in Garden City if they accept my copies?
3: Do they call people so early in the morning? i.e. 7:30 AM
4:Is it possible that a new immigration officer objects to something else and sends me home?
Thanks

I think you should fine. If the officer said to you so; it is also encuaraging...

I don't know about the terrorist term, but the documents the officer asked for is normal...I think you should be fine...and normally they don't change officers. Just turn in the documents and hope the best...

Yeah if you had multiple trips then they'll want to make sure you had your US residency still. They just want to make sure you weren't actually living in Pakistan and comming back here for the visit. It's pretty standard as they really look at that.

So after he can verify you didn't give up your green card then things should be fine. Now if he doesn't see you met the residency requirements then that might cause a big problem...

Erum - how many trips did you have, and how long were you out of the country? There have been reports from other members that when they have a high number of days out of the country the IO wants to take more time and carefully review these trips, using the information on the N-400 as well as the stamps in your passport. This is done to ensure that continuous residency and physical presence requirements are met.

I haven't heard of the IOs commenting on visiting a specific country before, so this was a new one to me that the IO specifically mentioned Pakistan. It seems that if you are a citizen of Pakistan (and I assume that you are) you probably have ample reason to go there - visit with family etc., so I am not sure why they are treating it differently than visiting any other country.

I think you will be probably be fine as long as you meet the physical presence and continuous residency guidelines. As a precaution, you might want to just jot down a few notes to yourself regarding what you did while you were there - which cities you visited and the express purposes of your trips. This is only a precaution in case it comes up in the follow up interview. Best of luck to you!

You should be fine. He just wants to make sure you have lived in USA to claim your residency here. I wouldn't worry. Yes they do schedule appts 7:30 AM, I have been lucky and all my appts were after 8:00 AM, I am not a morning person.
This IO sounds like a very unprofessional person, picking up a country and calling it a terrorist. Very immature.

Good Luck.
