Guys,

I have my interview on 07/26 , which is a Saturday. Do you think i will have oath the same day? or Would they give me a choice of rescheduling later? or are there any oaths on Saturdays?

Please advise/ share your experience.

Thanks much..

It depends on your DO (district office). Just be happy and relax. Congratulations!

You have to prepare for exams and gather documents that are required on the list (Please note: I suggest you bring other documents that are not required on the list. if you have traffic violations, bring your driving records from both dmv and court. bring tax transcripts, marriage certiifcate if you are married, divorce decree if you are divorced, bank statemets, bills showing your current address, etc.). This is a big picture than oath.

what is your DO? if you want to bring your friends to celebrate your swearing-in, I think you can but depends on do's rules. You have to tell me what your do is so people in your area will answer your questions in this forum.

Thanks USGC. My DO is Norfolk ,VA. Also, i will only be carrying documents mentioned the Notice. I do not plan to carry anything extra as it was not asked. All my friends who went for interview only carried docs that were mentioned in the Notice. They didnt take traffic records (even though they had multiple tickets etc). not will i taking any tax transcripts ..some of you might disagree but i am just going by whats on my notice.

ok, if you read the other people who had interviews recently in this forum carefully, you should know better, not because your friends said that. It just depends on the interview officer (which is more important). Playing it safe is better than being sorry. Not all the officers have same procedures. In fact, my interview officer asked me for traffic driving records which were not required on the my notice. I brought my driving records with me. The officer glanced at my driving records and passed my interview. Good luck and Congratulations!

Speaking of oath ceremony, I am not sure if they would give the oath on the same day at Norfolk, VA. just wait for other Norfolk people (in this forum) who had experiences with oath and interviews.

Onlee,
I applaud your decision to carry only req docs. We did the same thing and had no issues. Good luck with your IV and please do keep the forum updated. Sat/Sun IVs are a recent trend and there is not much info on these.

FYI...i just carried my GC,passport and the Notice to my interview. Was not asked for anything else. Guys, dont waste time in collecting un-wanted docs.Just take the ones that are listed on your notice.Worked for me and all my friends who have been thru the naturalization process. My DO was Norfolk ,VA.They are really looking to convert you to a US citizen and will not fail you unless you are a jerk/criminal.
