Interview/Oath...

Hello,

I and my wife were interviewed same day last week in San Jose, CA at same time (1:30pm) by different officers.

We both passed and got "Congrats - would be notified with 30 days about Oath ceremony" letter.

My wife received Oath letter last Sat but mine is still being awaited.

I'm not sure why is taking more time...not sure if this is normal...can we call someone to request for oath ceremony on same day?

I'm a bit worried as I had 4 traffic violations (2 speeding, 2 using cell while driving) - already mentioned/discussed with IO though.

Any experiences...
Thanks!

My wife's Oath Ceremony is on 19-Oct...can she request for postponement so that its on same day as me? Is that recommended? If yes, please let me know how to request for postponement?

She can request postponement via Infopass, but since you don't know your oath day yet it will be difficult (if not impossible) for USCIS to schedule it on the same day until your oath day is confirmed.

Why do you want to postpone your wife's OC ???? Ego problem ???????? Normally this will result in further delays. Watch out.

why dont you just let your wife take her oath on time rather than postponing hers to wait on yours! what if she postpone hers and then you get your oath date and she doesnt get hers or she got a completely different date ,are you gonna postpone yours to wait on hers.............. I know that the oath ceremony is a event that you want to do together as a family, but sometimes you just have to take what you get, because there are a lot of people out there still waiting on oath letters. It should be fun to go to two oath ceremonies!!!!!!

Thanks for suggestions! This helps! So, it appears to be a normal process to have Oaths done on different dates...I shouldn't read too much into why mine hasn't come yet???

Secondly, are kids allowed during Oath ceremony (3 and 5 yrs old)? I may need to travel next week and if that happens won't be able to attend my wife's Oath ceremony.
So, the question is "Is it OK to have kids with her during Oath ceremony"? OR should we make alternate arrangement for them (as we did for Interview)?

Thanks!

I've heard of a lot cases where there were either delays or some discrepancies about when the oath letter is received. I wouldn't worry about it, be patient and it will arrive.
