Interview Letter Received! DO: Newark, NJ

Congrats! Good to see Newark applicants getting their IL.

I remember you were asking before if LUD would change when some one gets their IL. Did you notice if the LUD or status change for I-485, when you got the IL?

We are in the same boat (Newark). Also looking forward to the IL for a long time now. The FP notice took a long time in the first place, hoping that the IL at least would be sent in a timely manner.

Good luck with your interview!

Congrats Rubal!!!

I remember that you had been asking if the LUD before getting the IL indicates that the result of FBI namecheck are in. Our LUD on 485 had not changed since the day it first appeared online and because our online status had been pretty accurate (with I-130 too), we started to get a bit worried about the Namecheck. Interestingly the LUD on 485 changed recently and now we are hoping that it means results of namecheck are in :D lol... I know that's not a good assumption, but whatever helps to keep us positive will do.

Did you see another LUD on your 485?

Good luck with interview prep.

no other LUD yet. :(

thanks patty, cherr, a_usc, i've been following you guys also. ;) thanks UnionJax and jenimmi.

53 days to the interview, very excited! :)

asdrubal22, What was your RFE for? I have just got the papers filed. My DO is Newark also. SO just curious.

Thanks.

It was asking translation of BC. I totally forgot about it.

Congratulations :D

I think at this stage we are all excited, a little bit nervous and gather all the documents we can lay our hands on to take to the interview and anxiously waiting for our EAD card

Good luck to al of us

Hi a_usc

When u mention LUD on your I-485 - what exactly did it change to.

The reason I am asking is here is what has happened on my side -

My I-485 status didnt change from the initial message "It is taking us 120-180 days to process such kind of app........"

Just a few days back (much later than I got my Interview Notice) my status on I-485 also changed and it nows says:

"Your I485 Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status was received on January 21, 2006. We will mail you a decision as soon as processing is complete. You can use our processing dates to estimate when this case will be done. Follow the the link below for current processing dates."

Is this the same thing which happenned to you...If so i too will feel a little bit positive before my interview comes up towards the end of this month

The last LUD was in reference to the RFE, so i'll paste here:

"Application Type: I485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status

Current Status:

On March 29, 2006, we received your response to our request for evidence or information. However because preliminary processing was complete, the remaining processing time will be less than the maximum stated in this message. You will receive a written decision on this case. You can use our processing dates to estimate when this case will be done. Follow the the link below for current processing dates. "

Hope it helps ;)

Shah,

The message that you now see in the I-485 status is the new generic message that USCIS puts up. I think they changed the status message to this new one, for everyone, on May 25, 2006. That was the first time I saw an LUD on the I-485. Thereafter, I saw two more LUDs close by - one was on May 27th or 28th and the latest was Jun 3rd. The message however continues to remain the same - the one that you see now in your 485.

What's the LUD on your 485? Is it May 25th? If it is a later date, then I think there have been two LUD, because everyone I talked to received that new message and an LUD on May 25. Don't worry... things are gonna be okay. We have our interview scheduled for 20th - just 5 more days to go... eeeeshhhh. Thinking about it makes me........ ~whoa~

Hi a_usc,

Firstly - can totally understand the jitters !!!!!!!!!!!!! I have approx a little more than double the tim you have and have already started feeling anxious....God knows what will happen as i get near too....

Now here is my BIG Question regarding what you have said.

Firstly - I have NOT signed on for the automatic email updates. So like and old-fashioned guy go to the website (https://egov.immigration.gov/cris/jsps/index.jsp) every few days and see if the message has changed.

That brings me to my question - you mentioned that u had 2 LUDs after the generic message change (which probably u said was on 25th May - I am thinking mine was too around that same time).

But you also mentioned that inspite of the messages being same - there was 2 LUDs after that. Where do u see those LUDs? Because i just went and saw on the screen (after putting the MSC number) and dont see anywhere the date changes.

Is it that u get to know these because u may be subsribed for their email updates?

Or if it is on the page of egov - then please let me know because now i have got curious.

Also by the way - what is your DO?

Shah

Congratulations on the quick processing! I am green with envy at having to have Cherry Hill as my DO instead of Newark. A friend of mine filed paperwork through Newark in September and got her AoS interview last month (i.e. 8 months).

My DO is Cherry Hill and I filed December 2005. Still no news! :( According to online processing times, they are still processing May 2005 applications! ONE YEAR behind!! Gah!

MarineBiologist,
Those processing dates on the website aren't always accurate, so don't worry. Denver is supposed to be processing September 2005 and I received the interview letter last week.
If you feel nervous about it, you could make an infopass appointment to follow up on your case, see if everything's in order.
Good luck to you :)

Online Case Status data wrong

I received my Interview Letter today. There is no update on my case status online. My interview is in Providence - RI on July 27, 2006. :)
This leads me to believe that USCIS has two different databases, which do not interface well at all. The time line information for various DO is way off their projected dates. There is no logic to project or estimate any time line but On a positive note, this forum has a wealth of information that puts many minds at ease (Including mine)

Congrats ps182! Yeah, you usually don't get any updates or emails about that interview letter. Just be glad you received yours! Our dates are really close. Good luck to you again! :)
