Interview in US embassy.

Greetings ,

I am a U.S. Citizen applying my wire , leaving overseas for a green card. She already received an interview letter in US embassy. However , it is only her name on it.
Thus:
1. Would I (a US citizen) need to go to the interview with her or she has to go by herself?
2. Fin. air and W-2s should be brought to the interview for the last filing year or for at least several years?
3. Any advise /suggestion is highly appreciated.

Thank you.
Victor

Your name isn’t on it because she is getting the visa, not you. Usually the US sponsor can accompany the beneficiary to the interview, but doesn’t have to.

Document requirements are here https://travel.state.gov/content/tr...iew/interview-prepare/required-documents.html and detailed financial document requirements here https://travel.state.gov/content/tr...e-nvc/step-4-collect-financial-documents.html Suggest you check if your consulate has any specific requirements- some are now only accepting IRS transcripts for tax evidence (not copies of tax returns).

Thank you for the promt answer.
So, they will let me join my wife at the interview even thought she is only one who is getting a visa?
Thank you.

Depends on the embassy/country.
The interview email packet-4 should've indicated whether a USC could accompany a spouse. If not, line up outside the embassy carrying your US passport, and the security folks would inform you if you may accompany the applicant inside the embassy. Even if you're allowed in, you would not be at the interview, only your wife. You'd be seated in a lobby. She needs to carry all originals, and preferably the 2018 tax year transcript.
