Hi folks,Today i called to USCIS and talked with Immigration officer about the status of my case, particulerly namechek thing, He told me My name was placed under the interview line and my name check and fingerprints are cleared, i asked him if this is that fast then why the customer services rep told me that n400 will take arround 14 monts, He replied USCIS has changed its policy now they schedule for the interview everyone while still all the name check are pending. So what you guys think, i just applied for n400 like one and half monts ago.

faith mistakenly they have sent your citizenship and passport in my address.. please take a flight (as gas is expensive) to MD to get it from me. If someone like you will be stuck in namecheck, you will be banging at Mueller and Chertoff's door at 1am in christmas eve or maybe looking for Dick with Bush in whitehouse.

i think you should take a deep breath. you just applied. :). take everything said to you with a grain of salt. i don't think anyone knows how and what anything is being done at this point. in meantime, the mailman and his truck are my best friends :)

Well all of you respected guys go un USCIS web and see what is written there about the name check and casses, and thats what i was telling you about my thread that i have talked to IO and he told me the same thing, the bottom line is Ghanta bro you gonna have something in very near future just advice for you keep you mind open and think possitive and you will get it, just try to eveluate the things on the time and merit, i think you got it.
Goodluck

This is totally true. Nevertheless, faith4u's converstation with the IO is enlightening on the question of queue procedures. A few people have reported IO's telling them that their name was in queue and that an unsuccessful "attempt" at scheduling had been made. One person reported that an IO told them the reason for this was that namecheck had not been cleared. This seems to support what the IO is saying, that interview queuing occurs prior to namecheck clearance.

here's the thing, in my case, i was put in queue on feb. 18th after name and background check was cleared but 'no spots/dates were available at the DO.' per my understanding, the results of the name and background check go to the service center which then attempts to make an appt. for the interrview. hope vorpal is able to clarify these things during his upcoming infopass.

I was told the same exact thing about an attempt to schedule me for interview and the lack of availability of appointments. So far, I have 2 definite questions that I'll be asking at InfoPass:

1. After an unsuccessful attempt has been made to schedule an interview, how long does it usually take before another attempt is made?
2.Are the interviews scheduled on the basis of PD, check cashing date, or notice date?

Keep them coming, people!

One other thing...as was pointed out about by faith4u and nyc_naturalizer, it does seem that they are placing applications in queue for interview, regardless of name check status. This can be a new development based on the new USCIS/FBI joint effort to clear all backlogged name checks. Perhaps all forthcoming applications will receive the new 90 day treatment that they are touting?

They did cite "applying new business processes" as one method for acheiving the new goal. I guess this is one of them. Come to think of it, it's bizarre that they didn't do this all along.

Well from my understanding, The DO,s will go on step by step process, or there standerd opperating procedures, Havn't you noticed that first of all they shedual for week ends and after hours appointments, Now they are putting everyone( new applicants) in queu for the inetview shecdual to eliminate the backlog in DO's without compromising the national security. But looks like to me will take much faster then it was and which is verygood thing.
