We just had interview at San Francisco today. Everthing went very well. I filed immigration petition for my wife last Dec, and her case is approved today. I am really surprised how efficient USCIS is nowadays. This is our interview experience:
The appointment is 10:00 AM. We got there around 9:30. There were lots of people waiting over there already. After 1 hour wait, we were called by a very very friendly officer. He briefly introduced himself and asked us to take oath. Then, he asked us to show passports, driver's license, SSN card, 2005 tax return and my wife's H1b approval notice. He also asked my employment letter or paystubs. I didn't have them with me, but he was not picky about it since I am still with the the same employer.
After that, he asked my wife some basic information about both of us, such as DOB, home address. Then, he went over I-485 to make sure everything is correct, and also make comments and necessary changes. After reviewing I-485, he told us there were 6 changes made, and asked us to look at it and signed it.
Then, he asked my wife if she has plans to travel. We replied that she plans to visit her home country next week. So he generously gave her 3 month "temp green card" by stamping her passport with I-551, and told us she should receive real green card within 1 month. Then, he went out to make copy of passport.
When he came back, he said he forgot to ask us for joint documents, my daughter's birth cerificate, and photos. I gave him all he wants. And, that's it!
The whole interview took about 15 minustes. We brought our 2 years old daughter with us during inteview and I guess that's why he didn't even bother asking any questions regarding marriage..
