Hi,
I had my interview at the local office in Dallas, Texas.

The interview was scheduled for 9:00 AM and we arrived at 8:30 AM.
This is the list of items that we took with us.
1. I-140, I-485
2. All H1 notices
3. A letter from my company, to the Dallas Local office verifying my Employment status.
4. Tax returns (all years, except for the year 2000), Pay stubs ( all that I had- I did not have most paystubs for the year 2000)
5. Proof of Marriage (Various utility bills, Bank statements, Marriage photos, Marriage certificate)
6. EAD's (current + previous years) , AP’s (current + previous years), used AP
7. Emp Verf Letter ( current + all the previous letters).
8. Passports, I-94 , Drivers License, 2 photos (front facing), SSN cards
9. Birth Certificates
10. Complete copy of our 485 application and RFE application
11. FP –notices
I took the originals and a very good laser color copy. I submitted only the copies which looked like originals and it seemed that they like color copies to BW.

My Experience:
I dropped my letter in Box 2 and waited for 20 minutes.I was called around 9:50 Am.
She made us take the Oath.
(The chairs in her room were too far away from her table. When I pulled it closer to her table, she told me to leave it where it was. Bummer- I thought I was going to begin my ride! Since the chairs were far away, it was little uncomfortable for me to pull my paper from my BIG HUGE folders, get up from my seat and place the document on her table and then return to my chair. Anyway, it didn’t bother me too much!)
She asked me to sign a waiver stating that we will proceed the interview without our attorney.
She asked me to submit my Drivers license and passport and SSN card. Since my DL was from another state, she made a fuss about it. So I provided Bank Statements and utility bills to prove my residence in Dallas. (I thought that I have begun my roller coaster ride)
Then she began the interview process.
She asked about my Job and where I currently work and how long I have been at the current employer and took my current Emp_Verf letter.
She asked the name of the Employer that I first entered US with and why I switched to another company.
She asked my latest PointOfEntry and details about my AP and EAD. She was surprised that I was having AP and EAD for the past 4 years! She asked me to show her all my AP’s
She reviewed my entire application, and asked for my previous W-2 and tax returns. I submitted for the past 4 years. She read through my Emp_Verf letters from my current Employer, Offer letter etc and looked at my W-2s and Tax returns. It looked as though she was comparing to see if the numbers were correct.
She read through my appeal for 245 during my RFE but did not ask my any details about it.
She completed some more basic verification from my husband and asked who his interviewer was. Luckily we remembered the name and told his interviewer’s name.
She was confused why my husband was interviewed first, since I was the primary and also why it took almost 6 months for my interview!
She said everything looks good and asked my husband for his A# so that she would approve both our applications.
Then she verified and apologized saying that I have to wait until my dates get current.

She made a note of my husbands A# on my form and said that the office will keep these documents in another box. Every month, the contractors would review the applications to see if the dates are current and if so, they would send the cards for such applicants. In case, if I don’t get my card after my date becoming current, she asked us to set an Infopass appointment.

My husband and I were praying as we were been interviewed. She actually started rough, but gradually she became very polite and even we had some laughs on certain things. She actually felt bad that we had waited a long time and she was unable to help us even though she would approve the papers. My husband cracked a few jokes and the entire interview process was very light and casual.
I made it a point to answer her politely and very briefly to her question. I never gave her any extra details than what she needs to know.

Our history:
We applied 485 in July 2005, received RFE in Oct 2006 for my break in employment history and my husbands birth cert.I pleaded using 245 rules.
We took FP1 in Sep 2005 and FP2 in Apr 2007.
IN Sep 2007, we rcd notices saying that our cases were transferred to Missouri.
Nov 2007, my husband had his interview. During his interview, his interviewer requested the details fro my case.
After 6 months, I did my interview in July 2008.

Today, I am glad and thank God, that the interview went well and we know the security is cleared for both our papers and our application is good to go.
