Interview Done Case Under Review Comm help!!!

Hi Guys,

My interview for the Aslyum (GC) was done on 11th Feb. The interviewer had told me that I should get a response in couple of weeks. When I did not get it, I went to the office and talked with the interviewer. She told me that my case is under the review committee and I should hear about the case in 60 days. Anyone who has knowledge about this please enlighten me... Is it going through background check or some other process? My interview was successful as far I think.... I am sure others have experienced the same... any suggestion or information is appreciated.

very similar case to my brother. I know full detail of his case. he came to US first time in September 2007. He had his asylum interview on Dec 04 2007 and till today it has been 91 days and never received his decision in mail. The asylum office gave him peice of paper that was a decision mail out notice at the end of interview. in the mail out notice, it said his decision would be mailed to his address but never says when or how long it will take them to decide.

We have sent three asylum status inquiry letter to the local asylum office. been sending one letter for each for the 3 months. They sent a letter which has many pre-answered lines for people's asylym status inquiry and the one that was checked marked was our answer and that is (pending for further review or additional review and that's why it's taking longer if nothing happens in 6 months, let us know) that's all it says in thier response mail.

It never seemed like delay was due to backround /security check cos those answer was never checked in thier 2 response.

Now we are waiting for thier response from them and we expect to get in days but am sure it's gonna be same response from them and that is pending for additional review.

I hope and pray that this time they send us a decision whether it's approval or rejection.

We are so f********** tired of this wait and he is in legal limbo and his visa is expiring next week and we didn't renew his visa cos it will damage his pending asylum case.

It's very fraustating.

According to interviewer they r supposed to send me a letter but i haven't got anything almost in one month.I went in their office after 2 weeks .told me that my case is in review committe.What does that mean?Do I need to go there again or wait and watch ..any idea pl help.
 
today we got a response to our asylum status check from asylum office and again i said the same thing, my bro's case needs additional review and thats why its taking longer. Thats all it said, by the way it's been 94 days since he got interviewed for asylum and no decision what so ever from asylum office.

My bro plan to ask for our congresswoman to intervene in his asylum decision matter.

We think of asking the congresswoman to tell the asylum officer to issue a decision of YES/NO and not take months just to give decision.

I think he can ask that though my bro is not in legal status status.

She is a democratic congresswoman .

I wrote in the forum b4 .I had inteviewed on 11th Feb,They told me that they will mail me the decision in 2 weeks but I didn't get any thing and went there on third week they told me that my case was sent to review committe,What shall i have do just wait and watch ? but for how long? Is there anyway to get some information.If amybody has similar situation or idea pl help.
