Well I had my interview today at the Indianapolis DO, the place was pretty busy than Im used too. Our appointment was set for 8:25am and we arrived at 8:20am (Yeah, cutting it close I know) we gave our appointment letter to a lady at a window and waited.

After about 30 minutes we were called in by a gentleman in his thirties and we followed him to his office. We were sworn in firstly and he then asked us to take a seat. We were seated and he started tapping away on his computer and looking at files on his desk. He kept looking back and forth through our paperwork and asked the following questions:

1. My full name and date of birth.
2. Wife's full name and date of birth. (USC)
3. If either of us were married before. (yes for me)
4. Why I was divorced the circumstances of it.
5. How we met and when we met in person.
6 What kind of evidence we had.

Although this looks like a fair few questions, he was really laid back and I wasn't even sure he was listening to the answers at some point. He didn't make me afraid as I was suspecting though.

After he looked through our photo book, he said I can approve your I-130 instantly but I cannot approve your I-485 right now. Yep thats right, the dreaded FBI name check. Although he did say I already had a name check in 2002 (for my previous marriage) and it arrived pretty quickly. He said because I was from the U.K it should arrive soon, he said usually they have more trouble with people from the third world countries.

And thats it, I guess im approved although I left with abit of a headache. I was preparing so much for this and he didn't want to see much of our evidence at all. He only kept a letter from my landlord and a joint vision care insurance document. He didn't stamp my passport, take my I-94 or my old EAD cards. He didn't even mention the usual thing they give you about how to remove the conditions in two years etc.

So its good news I guess, and kinda confusing news at the same time.

Congrats :) and Happy B'day. I hope they get the namecheck results soon... barring that I believe you are approved.

Congrats.
Even though I'm surprised that the UK didn't submit your background yet.

UnionJax,
congratulations! I'm sure your background check will be done soon. Weird that it wasn't done faster, knowing that they did a background check on you before!

You're gonna get that Welcome Letter soon!

Happy Birthday and good luck! :)
