Can anyone shed some light on type of questions they ask during the interview?
mine is on this thursday in Federal plaza
well I had an EB1 case - photographer - took 5 [five years ] because they lost my application.
I was my own sponsor
interviewer was nice but detached -
went with no lawyer.
she asked me about clients -
how often i work for them etc etc - she was a little aggressive with that -
she asked me 3 years of taxes but i had only one and a letter from a CPA regarding my 2005 income -
I had no SSN before 2005 - so it was hard -
that was the stressfull part because my income was in a grey area -
I had no birth certificate - I had to bring one back one week from the interview [translated copy fedexed from italy by my dad]
at the end she told me she had to review my case [a 2 inch stack of paperwork] and i would hear in 2 weeks -
i waited 5 months and got green card from VSC. no stamp on passport...
there were routine questions about terrorism/ communism / oath etc...
some may make you smile but you gotta take them seriously.
then she asked me about my photography etc - if i printed my own stuff. she looked at tear sheets and letters of recommendation and commission from magazine photo editors etc...
I think my immigration officer was a supervisor because she had her own room instead of a cubicle -
but i came here in 2000 [march] with a B1 visa - then left 2 weeks - back in july 2000 extende
nded my visa - applied for an EB1 [skipping O1] in april 2001. approval notice for I 140 in nov 2001 - then INS lost my application etc etc etc
a friend of mine looked at my green card and said "5 years of anxiety condensed in a little card". so true.
it has been stressful but it has not been boring!
good luck
