Interview, Documents from Co-Sponsor

Hi there,
I would like to know what documents we have to bring to the interview, if we used my husbands mom as a co-sponsor. My husband makes now enough money to support me, but when we filed the AOS he didn't. Do we have to take her original birth certificate? Do we have to get copies of her taxform as well as from my husband? Any information on that subject would be really helpful and appreciated!

Thanks and good luck to everyone

The current USCIS rule is that they need tax returns only for the most recent year. So if your husband filed his taxes for 2005 and meets/exceeds the minimum income requirement, you can let the officer know that during the interview (only when he asks).

It would be perfect if you can take IRS transcripts for your sponsor and co-sponsor. Based on the information you provide during the interview, the officer would decide who your main sponsor should be. As long as you have one sponsor who meets/exceeds the minumum income requirement and is willing to support you, there should be no problem at the interview.
