 I had my citizenship interview scheduled for Sept 23. Now I have received a deschedule interview notice. Has anyone else received one of these or know why they deschedule? They state due to "unforseen circumstances".
My timeline so far is
Appt Feb 2004
FP April 2004
Notice of interview July 20
Notice of deschedule Aug 18

It is possible that the descheduling was due to an overload at INS. I would not worry abt it, just keep an eye out for another notice . Good turn around time at San Diego

Thank you. Im not worried just frustrated (like a lot on here). The notice recommended phoning regarding getting info on the notice. However, when I finally got thru to someone (after 20 min wait) was told to write in...
So I will wait and see what happens.

They depend on contractors, and deschedule could be unforeseen, as they indicate.

You could write the letter, but it would take them 4-6 weeks to reply, i.e. if they do reply. Your best option would be the wait for a few weeks, and then walk into the DO to perform a status check.

Thanks..I didnt realize they used contractors.

bandi1950. The point being, your interview delay is nothing to worry about. The officer who will interview is merely the front-end of a large department that depends on contractors. They have a whole department dedicated to records management which does most of the work related to collecting documents. While the interviewing officer is a cog in the wheel, I do not know for sure whether or not he/she is a contractor. They might very well be. And I am sure JoeF has not clue about this either.
