Interview August 11

Thanks, Eddie. Yes, the racist stuff is annoying. I mentioned bc of what I had seen and because there was a member here that mentioned the officer that interviewed them asked racist questions and she got denied. I don't know the background of the case, but I could see that happening, our lives are pretty much in the hand of immigration officers and people might be having a bad day or they just get overwhelmed with the power they have in hands.
Anyways, I wish everyone here with legitimate reasons to be in the country have a smooth process and celebratete :)

The whole terrorism thing? Yeah you're right that whole terrorism thing is just so darn silly, why would anyone bother with it? So what if a few more thousand people get killed, big deal. As long we don't offend any middle eastern 20 year olds applying for citizenship, the cost is worth it.

You think maybe, just maybe the suspicion on the 40 year old woman and 20 year old middle easterner raised some flags for a reason? You heard this story second hand from someone who knew someone. In other words you don't know anything about the case and for all you know they got denied because he had a criminal record (even with being a "nice guy"). Nobody will come out and say you know what I tried to scam my way into the country by marrying a woman 20 years older than me but they caught me. No, they'll give you some sob story about racism.

So congrats on getting done, but spare me the everyone's a racist crap.

THanks for posting the comprehensive list. I think I'm going to steal that idea from you :P

My interview is Aug 16. Congrats on yours. Hope mine goes as smoothly.

No problem, do that. And repeating what others say after their interview...the officer will be pleased to have organized documents. My binder is as neat as it could be! :)

Congratulations Lakelady I am happy for you. I do have one question though, did you include the envelope with the postcards from family showing the post date and stamp or did you only include the card alone. The reason I ask is because my interview is approaching and I also have cards that were sent to my husband and I but we did not keep the envelope that they came in. Thank you.

I never keep envelops. I had a huge stack of cards that the officer didn't even go through them. When he asked for evidence, I first pointed to my cards that were stacked on his desk, but he wasn't interested.
Good luck!

wowwwwwwwwwww

You guys seem to have a very smooth application. I mailed my application in 12/2004, and I only got approved until 6/22/06. And until now, I've not received my green card yet. I got my temporary green card though. But to travel to my country, temporary green card is not acceptable. It sucks, doesn't it? Thinking of your smooth process, I'm really jealous.
I mailed my package to Vermont. Vermont then forwarded it to Baltimore. I got interviewed at Baltimore 07/2005. A year later, I got approval letter on 6/22/2006 from Cincinnati, Ohio. There was no update on my case as to where and why my case was transferred to another center. I think my case was messed up at some point along the process. Now, just patiently wait for the actual green card. I really need luck, people.
