Interview
My citizenship interview is on Sept 11. I have already read all the threads but still have some questions.
First of all, what is the interview format like?
Straightforward format. You are asked questions on the application that you have filled out. Some of the questions are not trick questions, they are designed to update information and confirm information.
Can someone discuss their experience?
The xperience can be pleasant or nightmarish depending on your circumstance, the interviewer, how you handle yourself. BEst advice, relax, answer the questions truthfully, don't appear nervous. The process is quite simple, when you get there, place your appointment letter in a tray and wait, you will be called by the interviewer, taken to a room and interviewed, if you pass it and are recommended for USC, you are given a form and told to wait in the lounge, after a while smeone comes in and hands you an oath letter and a time for the oath( not applicable to DO that do not do same day oath).
At the appointed time you walk in, listen to a short speech, watch a video, verify your credentials on the nat certificate, take the oath, recite the pledge and then you are a USC
Besides studying history/civics questions & taking the paperwork, what else do I need to know?
Secondly, what happenes after the interview?
The test is pretty easy, just study the 100 questions, most likely the questions wil come from the first 10.
How long does it take to get the appt. for oath ceremony?
As I said earlier, some DO's offer same day some don't. Luck of the draw I guess
What has your experience been like in regards to processing time?
I would appreciate your response
My process in Atlanta lasted about 100 days. Hope this helps. Good luck.
