International Travel with H1 close to expiring

Hi,
I am on my 7th year extension. My current H1 expires on April 30th, 2007. I will be leaving for India on April 4th and coming back to the US on April 21st. Hence, I will be back inside the US border before my current H1 visa stamp expires.

My extension for the next year has already been filed and it might get approved while I am in India, but since I am doing my travelling on the current H1B (and I am back before it expires), this is probably a moot point.

I request the learned ones to please shed some enlightment on this. Do you guys think this should be fine? Could there be any issues?

Would appreciate a quick response as I am looking at tickets currently and need this confirmed.

Please make sure you come back atleast 2 -3 days before your old visa gets expired and keep a copy of H1 extn receipt.

Thanks pal. I will be in at least a week before the visa expires and be sure to carry the extension receipt.

Any other advice?
