International Travel while H1-B Extension (Extension within 6 years) is Pending

I used 5 years of the H1B visa. My H1-B extension request for the sixth year is pending. I am traveling outside U.S. currently.

Can I use my current unexpired H1-B or INS H1-B receipt for re-entry?
If not, what do I need to do to get back to U.S.?

If you still have valid H1 Visa sticker in your passport you can enter US. BCIS receipt of H1 extension is not for travel it only states that you or your employer applied for extension. you need valid H1 visa sticker in your passport to re-enter US
