I know this has been discussed before. But could not find the messages. My wife's 3rd EAD application was filed on June 20th along with mine. I received my apprpval after a month or so. But seems like mine and my wife's files got separated or something because she is yet to get her EAD approval. And since she is employed on EAD and it expires in 1.5 months, I am thinking about getting an Interim EAD.

1. What is the requirement for applying for iEAD?
2. Which office do I need to go to for this and what do I need to take with me?

If any of you have any information on this, please share with me.
Or if there is a previous message, please point me to it. Thanks!!

Find out what is your local office. For me it was memphis.

You can find this on USCIS or BCIS office's web site too. Your lawyer should also be able to help you for this.

After 90 days of EAD application, you need to go to this local office with
a) Notice of your EAD application.
b) Passport
c) Old EAD
d) Copy of I 140 approval
e) Copy of Notice of I 485
f) Driver's licence to prove address etc.

IEAD is issued same day, but takes all the day to wait.

Please try to find the working days for this activity of youe service center. They are all different and are generally not known. This forum will help you to tell more finer details.

Please post your details like city of residence etc and try to find more about local service center.

Does anyone have any experience getting iEAD in Dallas?
 
Miami Local Office

My friend has a similar problem,due to the change of address his EAD came through but his wife got sent back and on repeated calls to the 800 number he had no replies.His lawyer took an apointment at the local miami INS office and when she went then said that since the EAD had already been issued they can't issue a duplicate and they gave her a form to fillup to request for the EAD from the TSC.Since its been almost 7 months since it has been applied the lawyer is filing for a new one instead of filling the form which would probably not help.This was supposed to be his first EAD and he received it but not his wife,he is the primary applicant.

My EAD is waiting for more than 90 days, but I got RFE two months back and I need to get IEAD from memphis.
Do you have any idea whether they are issuing the IEADs after the RFE? I heard they are working on IEADs only on fridays is that correct? Please post me ur experience and guide me.

If it's been more than 90 days since your wife's application has been pending, then go to your local INS immediately. Do not delay, b'cos if they issue an RFE now, local INS will not give you an interim EAD until after 90 days from the date BCIS recieves response to RFE.
 
Thanks dinnu. I was planning on waiting till a few weeks before EAD expired. But after hearing about this RFE thing, I think we will go next week itself. Thanks a lot for your advice.
