Any one has received Interim EAD lately from Arlington VA office?..If so please post your experience.. Wanted to find wether they are issuing iead on same day
 
I also need to apply for iEAD

If anyone has experience getting iEAD from Arlington, VA please post it here. Do they give on the same day?

My EAD expires on Mar 28th and the 90 ays will be up on March 17th. Can I go before March 17th to get the iEAD?

No I haven't applied for iEAD yet. But I think it's good idea to apply early for iEAD at Arlington office. I am planning to approach Arlington office as soon as I complete 60 days.

Please post your experince as soon as you apply for iEAD.

I went to arlington on this wednesday for a walk-in. I got my interim EAD on the same day.

The fastest way to get interim EAD from the arlington is to go for a walk-in. I think it is only possible on wednesday afternoon.

1. Reached Arlington office at 2:00pm.
2. Told the guard that I am here for a walk-in. He asked me to wait in the waiting room
3. People with appointments are called first. At around 3:00 pm they called all walk-ins and issued EADs.

They only asked for a new 765 application, old 765 receipt and 485 receipt but it is better to carry all the required documents. They issued my EAD for a year from 03/17/2004 to 03/16/2005.

* I thought we could go on anyday and preferably in the mornings. Is that not the case?
* Should I go as early as possible or does it not make a difference?
* When do the walk-in interviews start?
* What if I don't get a chance to see them before they close for the day?
* Is there anyway that we can get an appointment?
* Did you have to pay anything?

You can go on anyday after 90 days. I think you have to be there at around 6:00 am as they issue only a fixed number of tokens per day. Then they will give you an appointment for a future day.

I am not sure walk-in happen everyday. You can try your luck. I went on a wednesday for a walk-in.

You don't have to pay anything.

I got a Walk In Interim EAD issued from the Arlington, VA last week. They only do EAD's on Wednesdays. My advice would be to go in at about 1:30 pm. The process is a bit haphazard - someone comes into the room and hands out handwritten tickets/numbers around 2. The arrival time really doesn't seem to matter - folks standing closer to the door got lower numbers the day I went. However, long story short - they call in appointments at 2:00 and 2:30. After they are done, they call in the Walk Ins based on the number issued. Per my understanding, if you get a ticket, they will process your iEAD (unless you have an RFE on pending applications).

The funny thing is that they don't seem to want to advertise that they do walk in EAD's. If you ask them, all they say is that you can 'try'...
 
EAD renewal,

I went to the Arlington office at 3:00 pm for wednesday walkin of ead, they were giving numbers. Called me in,, and said your ead is expiring on may 1,, so still your ead might come in mail by then.. I tried to convice the lady that it is pending since december 17 2003,, but she told me no.. you will have to wait for the mail.. if you dont get till around may 1 then come for a walk-in.....unfortunate day for me
 
Hi Guys

I am very confused. I live in the DC metro area and would like to go the arlington office. My previous EAD expires on 04/29 and I applied for reneal EAD on 01/12.

On the immigration.com's website under the Interim EAD issuance policy, it says that it might take upto 45 days. Is this for people who do not
"walk in" ? Could we "walk in" on wednesday afternoon and get the EAD the same day ??

I greatly appreciate your help. I am planning to go to arlington office next wednesday if they will issue EAD's same day.

You can definitely try your luck on wednesday afternoon. They issue iEADs on the same day. Try to be there around 2:00 pm.
