Interim EAD on Hold

I went to Baltimore office for an issuance of interim EAD as my I-765 application is pending over 90 days ( 27 Feb 2004). The INS officer refused an interim card saying that there is a "Hold on my I485 application". Is anyone in the same boat?. I guess this could have been triggered by a RFE ( Company tax return) on I40 application, as my EAC # for my I485 is on the RFE.

Local Offices do not issue Interim EADs if there is a hold on I140. There might be a question of your education evaluation, company's ability to pay. You need to check with your attorney to see if they received a RFE,
