Just want to share experience of interim EAD at NY City district office.
EAD application (2nd EAD) VSC- ND 09/01/2004
As of 12/01/2004 - website showed - standard RD message. There eas no RFE, etc.
Took Infopass appointment for 12/02/2004 at 8:00 am.
Went to Fedaral plaza at &:45 am on 12/02/04
At the entrance - appointment printout and passport (ID) - checked
Directed to go to Rm 310
Rm 310 - Apoointment printout, EAD receipt notice - checked and a token number and blank EAD form given.
Directed to go to 9th floor.
Filled in EAD form (Actually I already had a completed form)
At the window- Handed over EAD form, receipt notice for EAD and I-485, copy of previous EAD card, I-94. The officer promptly returned copy of EAD card and I-94 (Not required). He checked the EAD form, scanned both receipt notices; and returned. Very little communication, did not ask any questions!
After about 90 min, called at another window with passport and NY state ID (Driver's License). The officer took a finger (index) print and signature.
After few minutes photo was taken and momemts later new EAD card, valid for one year until 12/01/2005, was given.
In summary, a rather smooth process!!
