Hi,

I am planning on going to Norfolk, VA office to get interim EAD. I have recently moved from California to Virginia and I don't have Virginia DL or address yet. I am staying with a friend till I find a place to live.

Does anyone know whether Norfolk office people will check for residency proof?

What kind of documents other than DL do they accept for residence proof?

thanks

For interim EAD, you only need your EAD receipt number + current EAD. I am not sure whether they will issue iEAD if you fail to provide a proof that you are a local. Some one was sent back earlier. Try to get a letter from your employer that you are working in that area and take it to Norfolk.

I got my iEad in Norfolk on Friday March 12. It took about 2 1/2 hours. I got there 9.30 am. They asked for I-485 receipt, old EAD card, i765 receipt and also they gave me a form to fill out. They are asking for name, address,...etc.
After giving them everything they ask, you wait for somebody to call for fingerprinting and photo. Then it took them 5-10 minutes to give the iEAD.

Thanks gala.

I am planning to go there on this thursday or friday as soon as my 90 days are finished. Apart from the documents you mentioned, do I need to show any id for address proof ?

Is the bank statement with the new address good enough?

thanks

They ask for second picture id too(other than ead).. I showed my driver's license.
I don't know if they even looked at my address on the drivers license. But just in case take your bank statement.
Did you filed an address change to USCIS yet? If you did, write your new address on the form they give you.
I hope you will get it with no trouble..
Let us know how it went..
